Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini might make the short journey to join another London side, Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs' Brazilian keeper, Heurelho Gomes has had a nightmarish first few months in the English game as his costly errors have proved costly to his side in their relegation fight.
New manager, Harry Redknapp is said to be eyeing a short-term replacement to give Gomes some competition and Cudicini is at the top of the list.
Cudicini has had to settle for a role on the bench since Petr Cech joined Chelsea and with the limited playing time he has gotten, a switch to Spurs might be tempting.
If a bid for Cudicini fails, Redknapp may just head back to Fratton Park to lure England keeper, David James to the Lane
