England vs USA

England won 2 - 0 against USA in the international friendly. John Terry, who made a blunder in the champions league final, scored the first goal in David Beckham's free kick. Wayne rooney and Defoe were the forward players for England. Rooney had an excellant game whereas defoe struggled a little bit. The score remained 1 - 0 during the half time whistle. Bentley came in for beckham and Barry came in for Hargreaves. Liverpool skipper, Steven Gerrard, scored the second goal. The goal scoring pass started from John Terry. Terry tackled the ball from the midfield and passed it to defoe. Defoe then made a quick pass to barry. Gareth Barry found the gap between the central defenders and gace a through ball to Steven Gerrard who then ran alone and scored a goal. Finally England won 2 - 0.

New Signings

Didier Deschamps is on the short list for chelsea manager. He brought AS Monaco to the champions league finals for the first time. Also he promoted Juventus to serie A when they were relegated because of the match fixing activites.

Grant Sacked!!

Chelsea manager Avram Grant was sacked on saturday(24/5/08) after losing the champions league title to Manchester United. As a manager of Chelsea he had lost two matches (/w Arsenal and /w Manchester United). He was the only manager to bring chelsea into the finals. He was sacked not because of the results but the owner needs an attacking and attractive football style from chelsea. Former Manager Jose Mourinho was sacked due to the same reason.
